The Hajj Fund at BPKH is 115 Trillion, Safe and Not Used for Infrastructure

Jakarta- Hajj funds that was managed by BPKH until April 2019, reached IDR 115 trillion or even an increase of IDR 10 trillion in a year.
These funds have been placed and invested through various safe and optimal Islamic financial instruments. BPKH projects a benefit value of IDR 7.3 Trillion which will be used to finance the operational costs of Hajj in 2019.
To increase the quota of 10,000 pilgrims, BPKH supports the financing through the efficiency of procurement of the Saudi Arabia Riyal (SAR) worth Rp65 billion; and optimizing the benefit value of Rp.55 billion. Of the total cost requirement of Rp.353.7 billion, BPKH will contribute Rp120 billion, with the remaining Rp.50 billion from the operational efficiency of Hajj, by the Ministry of Religion and Rp.183.7 billion from the APBN.
The Head of the BPKH Implementing Agency, Anggito Abimanyu, has never issued a statement stating that BPKH’s finances are running low. BPKH funds are sufficient and safe. It is more important to note that not even a single rupiah of Hajj funds was used directly for the benefit of infrastructure development.
