About Hajj
Hajj is the fifth pillar of Islam, obligatory for every Muslim who is physically and financially capable, at least once in a lifetime.

Hajj Requirements
To register as a hajj pilgrim candidate, one must meet the following requirements:
- Muslim
- Adult (Baligh)
- Of sound mind
- Physically and financially capable
- Has a mahram (for women)
Types of Hajj
The Indonesian government organizes two types of hajj departures that pilgrims can choose from:
- Regular Hajj: Standard organization with facilities as per regulations
- Special Hajj: Organization with additional facilities and services

Hajj Registration Procedures
Document Preparation
Prepare the required documents for hajj registration:
- Original and photocopy of ID card (KTP)
- Original and photocopy of family card
- Islamic bank savings book
- Recent passport photos (3x4 and 4x6)
- Marriage certificate/mahram certificate (for women)
Registration at Receiving Bank
Visit the designated Receiving Bank (BPS) to register:
- Visit the nearest BPS in person
- Submit required documents
- Complete the registration form
- Pay the initial registration fee (BPIH)
- Receive hajj portion number
BPIH Payment
Complete the Hajj Pilgrimage Organization Fee (BPIH) payment as required:
- Can be paid in installments or in full
- Through the Receiving Bank
- Monitor balance progress through the app
- Pay in full before departure period

Verification process is conducted by the Ministry of Religious Affairs to ensure data completeness:

Registration Document Requirements
Identity Documents
- Original and photocopy of ID card (2 copies)
- Original and photocopy of family card (2 copies)
- Passport (if already available)
- Birth certificate (for age verification)
Photo Documents
- Passport photo 3x4 (5 copies, white background)
- Passport photo 4x6 (5 copies, white background)
- Photos must be recent (max 6 months)
- No sunglasses allowed
Financial Documents
- Islamic bank savings book
- Registration fee payment receipt
- Tax ID number (if available)
- Salary slip or income certificate
Mahram Documents (Women)
- Marriage certificate (for married women)
- Mahram certificate from local authority
- ID card and family card of accompanying mahram
- Proof of kinship with mahram
Health Documents
- Health certificate from doctor
- Laboratory test results
- Meningitis vaccination certificate
- Complete medical history
Other Documents
- Completed registration form
- Statement of financial capability
- Permission letter from employer (for civil servants/military/police)

Hajj Preparation Timeline
The following are the preparation stages that prospective hajj pilgrims should be aware of
Initial Registration
Register for hajj as soon as possible considering the current estimated waiting time for departure is 20+ years. The sooner you register, the sooner you get your portion number.
BIPIH Settlement
Ensure BIPIH has been fully paid after the amount is announced before departure. Early settlement provides departure certainty.
Data Verification
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah will verify and validate pilgrim candidate data. Ensure all documents are complete and data is valid to avoid administrative issues.
Passport Processing
If you do not yet have a passport, arrange for passport processing immediately. The passport must be valid for at least 6 months at the time of hajj departure.
Rituals Training
Attend hajj rituals training organized by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. Rituals training is mandatory to provide understanding of hajj worship practices.
Health Examination
Complete final health examinations and required vaccinations. Ensure you are in prime physical condition for performing hajj.
Departure Preparation
Collect hajj equipment, attend departure briefing, and prepare mentally and physically for performing hajj in the Holy Land.
